Meet the Founder of SOLORO ~ Lou Hunter
In the Spring of 2024, Louise Hunter – a single mum, creative and experienced, but exhausted by busy, city life – chose to do something very different. She upped and moved from the hustle and bustle to literal opposite – the remote, rural mountains of Spain’s Andalusia. Where she began living a new lifestyle, completely different to anything she had ever experienced before, in a casa-cueva (a re-formed cave house) set into the side of a mountain.
It was indeed a journey deep into the unknown. Relocating to a rugged and utterly breathtakingly beautiful place, where ancient energy pulsed through the Earth and radiant crystal glittered on the ground like broken glass. Wide open views. Sparse population. Silence instead of sirens. Trading distraction and disillusionment for clarity and consciousness.
Inspired by the geology, altitude, weather and drawing on her design background and esoteric, energetic knowledge, Lou had been investigating her new surroundings and discovered that she was actually living on a mountain made of selenite crystal, which is known to be a ‘Transmitter of Light’. And then, when a friend serendipitously sent a video all about selenite, orgonite and the alchemy behind orgone energy…
…things clicked into place in her mind – as this video resonated so unexpectedly deeply. And so, she began a new hobby, designing and hand-crafting orgonite jewellery using metals and stones that echoed the local land. The work became niche, minimalistic and focused on energy transmutation.
And when she created an alchemical recipe that not only infused the wearer with a calm, peaceful energy but also offered powerful levels of EMF protection, Lou finally figured out why she had been placed in these mountains. She hadn’t moved to the mountains to disappear. She had moved there to build something that could last. And she had discovered why SOLORO just had to be born.
It was jewelry making with a difference. A soulful means of grounding, protection and connection. Jewelry that told the quiet stories of hidden science and ancient history rather than shouting status.
Creating in in isolation and balancing parenting with surviving (that often meant chopping wood in pyjamas when the logfire went out or somehow washing when the mains water supply suddenly disapeared) the first online sale turned into regular, repeat sales. Strangers emailed her to say the jewellery “meant something” and that they “felt better” when wearing it. Distribution got smoothly established. Other companies contacted her expressing interest in selling the SOLORO orgonires – which meant wholesale production.
Then Louise knew it was time to grow and get these powerful orgonites out to everyone who needed and wanted them – but to do that, an artisan workshop needed to be constructed…
And here we are. Ready to expand the range and ship these beautiful, energetic talismans all over the world.
